Henry Street

The Henry Street Settlement is a non-profit social service agency on New York City’s Lower East Side, serving around 60,000 people each year. Clients include low-income families and individuals, survivors of domestic violence, youth from two to twenty-one, the mentally challenged, the physically challenged, and senior citizens. The Abrons Arts Center at Henry Street offers visual and performing art events as well as classes. John Robshaw Textiles has been proudly donating merchandise to Henry Street for years. Items we donate benefit Henry Street’s homeless shelter programs directly, with a portion also distributed to those about to leave the shelter for their permanent housing.

Last year, the shelter programs provided assistance for about 350 families and nearly 700 children. Recent donations to Henry Street included bed linens and quilts. Ms. F, who recently left the shelter program for her own apartment, was especially grateful. “The sheets are amazing and gorgeous, with brilliant colors. I love them” she said. Henry Street accepts many types of items; furniture, toiletries, and clothing are always welcome. For more information on the Henry Street Settlement, please visit www.henrystreet.org.
